Experienced Ship Design and Technical Consultancy from a passionate Naval Architect. Andrew has over 25 years’ experience in Ship Design, Construction and Commissioning in commercial shipbuilders and ship design consultancies.

Background
Andrew graduated from the University of Glasgow to start a professional career as Naval Architect in Ferguson Shipbuilders giving him full exposure to commercial ship building & design. The compact nature of the yard meant he was involved in every aspect from hands-on production to commercial management, estimating, tendering, and the full ship design process from concept to commissioning.
He then spent 4 years in Harland & Wolff Heavy Industries where he focused on stability and tonnage work on behalf of a Class Society. Further he had 2 secondments to IHC Merwede to conduct structural design for a 130m Offshore Vessel and 31,000m3 Dredger.
In 2010 Andrew moved to OSD-IMT, a ship design consultancy specialising in design of offshore support vessels. Starting as Senior Naval Architect he was promoted to Technical Manager, taking a more active role in the management of the business in addition to being the lead technical engineer on all projects.
In 2016 Andrew returned to Fergusons’ as Chief Naval Architect with lead responsibility for all aspects of design from concept through to detailed and production design development. Specialism in naval architecture and ship design, but responsible for design engineers of all disciplines.
For years he aspired to running his own consultancy, and in 2018 he took the leap of faith...
